Rules, Terms & Conditions

Rules for 2008 ‘festival4stars’ Heats in 10 Regions UK wide

  1. All Heat Auditions and Regional Finals will be held on the same day.
  2. Section start times and all information will be sent out to competitors on receipt of entry forms. Competitors will register on the day and will receive the results at the end of the section.
  3. All performances will be strictly limited to 2 minutes singing in private auditions [music will be faded after 2 minutes by stewards]. 3 minutes group dance and entertainment and 1&1/2minutes Solo Dance.
  4. All competitors will receive written advice from 2 judges which can be collected at the end of the section.
  5. Four winners from each section will be announced in the main suite at the end of each completed section.
  6. These winners will compete by performing again in the main function suite later in the day so all competitors should be prepared to spend the day with festival4stars!
  7. All competitors are most welcome to remain and watch the Final stages of the day
  8. Nine acts [ one from each section] will be chosen at the end of the day by the Panel of Judges to represent the Region at the National Finals.
  9. 5 Star Dancers and groups will go through to the Dance Finals 25th – 27th September in the Golden Sands Haven Holiday Park, Mable Thorpe, Lincolnshire.
  10. 4 Star Singers will go through to Glasgow on Sunday 16th November at the Radisson SAS for the National Finals of Musical Theatre and Solo Singing.
Terms and Conditions
  1. All entrants are responsible for making their own transport arrangements to appear at the designated venue for all events, the Regional heats & the National Finals.
  2. The judges decision is final on the day of the competition. Any appeal against the judges decision should be made in writing to festival4stars head office within 7 days of appearing. festival4stars will then respond within 30 days of receiving any such appeal and its decision will then be final.
  3. Any abuse of fellow competitors or threatening behaviour towards festival4stars employees or representatives, will terminate the entrants opportunity to perform in the event or any future events. Foul language at any event will not be tolerated. Any perpetrators will be asked to leave the premises at which the event is taking place.
  4. All entrants under the age of 16 years of age, must be chaperoned by one nominated and responsible adult at all festival4stars events. The Chaperone will be accountable for the behaviour and welfare of the minor in its charge and liaise with festival4stars personnel as to direction on the day of the event.
  5. All entry fees must be submitted in advance and are not refundable in the event of cancellation through illness or other misadventure affecting the entrant.
  6. All entrants agree to allowing their image to be captured by the photographer and/or on any film to help promote festival4stars for publicity purposes. No Cameras, Audio or Video recording is allowed at any event by the competitor or his/her/their guests and any person disregarding this rule will be asked to leave the premises immediately.
  7. All musical content will be presented to festival4stars on the day of the event and festival4stars is not responsible for its quality or the poor reproduction of such recordings and has no liability or responsibility to find alternative or replacement backing tracks for the competitors.
  8. festival4stars has the right to change any venue or times of appearance by competitors and wherever possible will inform the competitor in advance of such changes.
  9. All winners of Regional events will be expected to attend the National Finals of festival4stars at the end of the year. Dates are as follows:
    - Song Writing Finals in London Saturday 3rd November at the 5* Grange City Hotel
    - National Solo & Group Dance & That’s Entertainment Finals 25th-27th September in the Golden Sands Haven Holiday Park, Mable Thorpe, Lincolnshire..
    - National Solo Singing & Musical Theatre Finals in Glasgow on Sunday 16th November at the Radisson SAS Hotel
  10. Finalists attend all finals at own travel expenses although festival4stars provides optional Sponsorship Packages where required for all finalists in order to support them in covering the cost of accommodation and tickets at events
  11. Winners have free entry to the finals and Awards Dinner meals are covered at the London & Glasgow Finals only.
